Cinderella 2015, old story, new way to dream

Disney released the new trailer for the highly anticipated Cinderella, which is due to hit the theaters in March 2015, and looks simply fantastic, entitled to the most stunning glass slippers and incredible blue dress a princess had ever the courage to dream about it.  But when one has a fairy godmother like Helena Bonham Carter, one can’t wish less. Bonham Carter leads the cast of British stars who joined the production, which has Lily James (Downton Abbey) as Cinderella, Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) as Prince Charming (almost unrecognizable beardless… but then, you can’t have Robb Stark after the Red Wedding falling in love with Cinderella, can you?), Ben Chaplin as Cinderella’s father, Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey) as Drizella, Holiday Grainger (The Borgias, Anna Karenina) as Anastacia, Hayley Atwell as Cinderella’s mother and Derek Jacobi (The Borgias, Last Tango in Halifax) as The King. The cast also includes the fabulous Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine, the merciless stepmother of Ella  and Stellan Skarsgård as the Grand Duke.

Cinderella 2015 ball

In the trailer is possible to notice many similarities with the original Disney animation movie (Cinderella’s dress is still blue, Prince Charming still wears his white coat), but it is also possible to feel the addition of a more adult atmosphere to the worldwide known story. And by the way, the special effects seems to be breathtaking, the certainty that the movie is to be enjoyed on the big screen movie.
