Sherlock Series 4 has just started filming on April, 4th and should be in our telly’s by January, 2017. But we already have some interesting news so far.
Mark Gatiss is confirmed as the writer of the first episode, which is not really a big surprise and the director Rachel Talalay, responsible for Doctor Who finales of series 8 and 9 (Dark Water, Death In Heaven, Hell Bent and Heaven Sent) is also on board and will be directing the first episode, as announced in this BBC official Press Release.
Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, who played Bors in Doctor Who prequel “The Doctor’s Meditation” and the first episode of series 9 “The Magician’s Apprentice” is the first guest star actor confirmed presence.
The new series will bring back our pair of favorite detectives, Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman), as much as Mary Watson (Amanda Abbington) and a new challenge: baby Watson is coming! But you can expect big things coming considering the words of the cast, producers and writers.
“Sherlock series four – here we go again! Whatever else we do, wherever we all go, all roads lead back to Baker Street – and it always feels like coming home. Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake. This is the story we’ve been telling from the beginning. A story about to reach its climax…” – Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss
“I can’t wait for everyone to see season four. But you will have to wait… though not for long… And it will be worth it.” – Benedict Cumberbatch
